First and foremost, it is important that I express my primary goal in my practice: to assist children and adolescents with a variety of needs in reaching their full potential. As a professional and parent of two children, I know that that there can be immense challenges in guiding a child toward success, whether due to day-to-day stressors or significant negative experiences and losses. I seek to provide services that better equip an individual to make positive choices, to overcome and grow in response to negative experiences, to feel good about him or herself, and to feel capable of achieving all that he or she desires. An individual succeeds most when those around him or her also are fully equipped to offer the highest level of support, encouragement, and understanding as possible, and I seek to incorporate parents and school teams in the continuing plan of support for each individual. The time that I spend with each child, adolescent, or young adult is short-term in the overall picture of their life, but I strive to make sure that the time that is spent is meaningful and productive, allowing each individual to better face the next step of his or her growth with confidence, capability, and knowledge.
